Reaction shot.

This is a reaction shot- You can see this character's reaction to what somebody has just said to her. You can see that there are conflicts and feelings of tension.

This could also be an over the shoulder shot as you can see paart of the other characters' head in the far right of the frame.

High angle shot.

This is a high angles shot of 'Wisteria Lane.' The directors have done this so you can see what types of houses the characters live in. And as you can see they are very large and the area is sub-urban. This emphasises the idea that the women in the TV drama live that 'housewife' lifestyle while their male partner is the breadwinner.
You can also notive that everything appears to be pristine and perfectly placed. This suggests to me that along side this there will be alot of drama.

This is a Point of View Shot and is just showing what the character opposite see's infront of them. We can see that the character is relaxed- his shirt is unbutonned and you can see some chest hair which suggests his masculinity.

This is a two shot of Mike and Edie. The shot is done so we can see the hospital equpiment in the background- This signifies somebody is hurt thus hooking the audience to know what has happened.

We can also see from the contact between Mike and Edie that they are a couple.

This is a Medium long-shot of all the main characters. This shot gives us information about the setting- You can see that the location is a large house- this suggests wealth and comfort. The audience also get an idea of what characters are like themselves and in relation to one another from their facial expressions or objects they are holding- Brie and Susan are carrying hampers containing food which makes the audience associate them with ideologies of 'the housewife'

All of the women appear to be attempting a false smile or look tense. This suggests they are uncomfortable int he situation they are in- The large house suggests comfort yet the directors oppose this by the characters' body language making us assume that not all is well.

Desperate housewives camera angles

This is a medium shot of the character Katherine holding a hand gun. The purpose of this shot is to convey her emotions- you can see that she is tense and feels anxious but at the same time is of a very strong stature. This shot also allows the audience to see characters in the background and how they are positioned in relation to Katherine.
